Communications and Marketing Overview

Tracy Vosburgh, Vice President for Communications and Marketing, leads Virginia communications program. Central teams in Communications and Marketing support initiatives across the entire university, including media relations, crisis/issues management, content strategy (including messaging, social media, and photography/ video), design and digital strategy, and marketing (including branding and licensing). In addition to the central team members, each college has a communications director with dual reporting to Communications and Marketing and the Office of the Dean or the Assistant Dean for Advancement. Currently, AAD’s director of communications and marketing reports to the Assistant Dean. College Partnerships with Central Teams (university-relations-overview/)

Engagement / Alumni Relations Overview

Alumni Relations team members play a key role in creating both on and off-campus engagement opportunities for alumni and prospects with Virginia Tech. Additionally, they create specific ways where individual prospects can engage with students, other alumni, as well as key faculty and staff, and university leadership. Prospect managers partner with alumni relations and their prospect team to find ways to leverage such engagement opportunities in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of their prospects in support of their prospects’ lifelong relationship with Virginia Tech.
