Marcus Haynie - Facilities and Operations Manager 231-9302 mchaynie@vt.edu (mchaynie@vt.edu) Each building on campus occupied by AAD faculty/staff/students has been assigned a Building Emeregency Coordinator (BEC). In addition, there are Alternate BECs and Floor Wardens who report to the BEC.
The BEC is responsible for their building’s emergency planning, keeping building occupants informed, conducting exercises, and supervising the execution of the EAP during emergencies and drills. Alternate BECs assume the BEC respsonibilities when the BEC is unavailable.
Please note: The BECs and Alt BECs are the officials-in-charge when an emergency is declared or the fire alarms sound. Please follow their directions to ensure everyone is evacuated or secured safely, quickly, and orderly.
